I love this coloring book ... I really wanted the human anatomy coloring book, but I was shopping with a 8 year old who wanted to get the same coloring book I got . I love marine biology so I figured this would be better for an 8 year old.... We spent a lot of time learning and coloring together.... It is a fun way to refresh or learn about marine biology.
I was looking for something fun and creative for my marine students to have to review. This book is a bit too detailed for Marine 1, but I can see using pieces for Marine 1 and 2, then as a review for Marine Science 3 (high school). Lots of images and info, from tides to reproduction.
I am a Marine Bio major and have been searching for this coloring book for a little while now. You don't understand how happy I am that I have it. My highschool marine bio teacher/mentor used to use a few of these pages in her lessons. I learned so much from reading and coloring. I have wanted it ever since. My best friend is now going to buy one so we can color the whole book together.Highly recommended for anyone who loves the ocean. It has things on oceanography, different species, tidal zones, all sorts of fun stuff. I am thinking about bringing it out whenever company comes over. It will make an awesome conversation starter.
I took a Marine Biology class and this coloring book helped me learn the topics better than the actual text book! I am a visual learner and when you talk about layers and which animals are in each layer of sand, I will remember easier using this coloring book than I would reading it in a book. You learn about life cycles and reproduction cycles of animals and again the pictures and descriptions in this coloring book very much helped me learn better than the text book did. Plus, it is always fun to color!
I'm not sure I'll be able to incorporate this book with my course. It is a lot of reading on the subject and then just coloring. I'd prefer instruction on specific coloring to reinforce what's already been taught. This would be good to just use by itself to read about marine biology and color. I was hoping it would be a reinforcement to the curriculum I had picked out.
I like how it arrived on time but the book was scratched in the front and damaged a bit besides that the insides are great and everything is good
The book that arrived is just over 100 pages, the description states it is around 250. I am giving low marks due to false advertising. If the description was correct I would give the product three to four stars.
My students really enjoyed using this and learned a lot in Marine Bio.
